“Fast downhill from Tognola and the lunar landscape of the Rosetta Plateau: truly unforgettable.”
We load the bikes after work and arrive late in the evening. Luckily, Lara has left us the keys, so check-in is easy. We park in the garage and store the bikes in the dedicated room. Everything is simple and practical. We get a good night’s sleep to be ready for the trails.
Early start. Michela rents a downhill bike and we take the Colbricon Express up. The trails are fun and varied, perfect to warm up. Later we move to Tognola, she chooses the easier Abbey Road, while I try some more technical lines. Great day on the bike. In the evening, dinner out and a quiet walk in the village.
Today we leave the bikes and go up to the Rosetta Plateau. Two lifts and we are at the top, surrounded by an open, rocky landscape, it really feels like the moon. From there we walk towards Pradidali and enjoy a long descent back. A different kind of adventure, but just as memorable.
Before heading home, we do one last ride from Passo Rolle to Baita Segantini. We pass Malga Juribello and Malga Venegiota, then climb through Val Venegia before the final descent. The views are incredible all the way. A perfect ending to a great few days.
Helmet, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a small first-aid kit.
Bring a reusable water bottle and refill it in your apartment or at public fountains.
Always check the forecast before heading out and carry a light windbreaker for sudden changes.
