“Cross-country skiing at Monte Pana, sledding on Resciesa, and a perfect kids day on Alpe di Siusi.”
We arrive at Boè Apartments in the evening. From the balcony, the view of Sassolungo is stunning. The next day we head to Monte Pana for cross-country skiing. We rent the equipment and follow the easy Palusc trail, perfect with kids. Snow everywhere, quiet and peaceful. For lunch, schnitzel and fries, then back home to relax.
Today is all about fun. We go to Ortisei and take the Resciesa funicular up. We rent sledges and start the run, fast, exciting, full of laughter. The sun is shining, so we go again and again, getting more confident each time. The kids don’t want to stop. One of the best days of the trip.
We take the cable car from Ortisei to Alpe di Siusi. The view is incredible: open space, wooden huts, sledges, and wide snowy fields. We enjoy an easy walk to Sanon hut and stop for Kaiserschmarren. Warm, sweet, and perfect. A relaxed ending before heading home, full of good memories.
Sunscreen (SPF 50+), snacks, and a thermos with hot tea or water.
Use the free transport in Val Gardena and take lifts instead of driving whenever possible.
Check the forecast and dress in layers. Roads can be snowy, snow chains or snow tyres are compulsory in winter.
