Day 1

Late-night arrival

Day 1

Late-night arrival

We arrive late in the evening, but Francesco welcomes us with a smile and shows us our room in no time. We chose a two-room suite, perfect with kids. They fall asleep right away, and we enjoy a quiet moment in the living room, that’s great start!

Day 2

Yaks, panoramas & sweet treats

Day 2

Yaks, panoramas & sweet treats

We take the cable car up to Col Rodella and stop at Friedrich August hut, famous for its krapfen. We try one, it’s as warm and delicious as it looks, along with a Kaiserschmarren, a fluffy shredded pancake with powdered sugar. We sit in the sun with amazing Dolomites views, while the kids watch the yaks grazing nearby. Simple, unforgettable moments.

Day 3

The green paradise of Val Duron

Day 3

The green paradise of Val Duron

Following the staff’s advice, we visit Val Duron. The valley is wide, green, and full of little huts. The views of Sassolungo, Sassopiatto, and Catinaccio are incredible. It’s an easy place to walk with kids, and you can even take a jeep ride higher up, if needed.

Day 4

Marmots and mountain stories

Day 4

Marmots and mountain stories

We reach Passo Pordoi to take the Viel del Pan trail—easy and perfect for families. The kids try to spot marmots with binoculars, listening to their whistles. We stop for a lunch with a view, the majestic Marmolada in front of us, then return to the village for a relaxed walk by the river.

It’s time to leave!

Day 5

It’s time to leave!

We’re already at the end of our holiday; it’s time to go home. Thank you, Val di Fassa, for these wonderful days breathing fresh mountain air and these wonderful memories we’ll carry with us all winter long. We might even come back next year!
