Highlights
“The play trails help little ones forget the effort. Don’t miss the wood carvings and local artisan workshops.”
This trip is all about the kids, Paolo and Mila, so we head straight to Monte Pana. The Panaraida trail is a dream: every stop is a game. Water features (bring spare clothes!), slides, swings, even a mini cable car. The final stop is a small lake with a view of Sassolungo, perfect for a break before heading back, happy and tired.
After a relaxed breakfast, we walk to the Dantercepis lift and head up to Passo Gardena, what a view! With a bit of encouragement, we tackle the short climb to Forcella del Cir. The kids run around collecting pine cones and flowers while we enjoy the peaceful trails and grazing cows. In the evening, a cosy dinner and a movie make it feel just like home.
Before heading home, we stop at the park near the residence and it’s a hit. Climbing frames, zip lines, slides, sandpits. The kids could stay all day. Time flies, and soon it’s time to go. We leave with big smiles and plenty of stories to share with the grandparents.
Kids will be playing everywhere, rocks, grass, water, and mud, so pack plenty of spare clothes and comfy shoes.
Take time to discover local traditions and producers: Val Gardena is rich in culture, including the Ladin language.
Mountain weather can change quickly, bring a light waterproof, but also sunscreen for bright, sunny days.
