There are plenty of good reasons to spend your holiday at Residence Antares in Selva Val Gardena, the best one being the amazing cuisine at Hotel Antares’ restaurant, which you can conveniently reach from your apartment through a hallway inside our property.

If you don’t feel like cooking or you’d like to try our chef’s dishes, you can have breakfast at the hotel, lunch at the bar and choose between having dinner at the restaurant or taking it away. Please note that all these options are only available on demand and for a fee.

Every day there are new recipes of meat, fish, vegetables and fruit from Val Gardena, sometimes even locally sourced. How can you possibly resist speck and cheese canederli, steaming cornmeal polenta with chanterelles or a slice of fragrant Sachertorte? Not to mention a fabulous breakfast, a true feast of freshly made sweet and savoury delicacies by our own pastry chef.

- Price: 15 EUR in winter - 12 EUR in summer
- 7am - 10am
- Sweet and savoury breakfast buffet
- Breakfast in your room (on demand, for a fee)

LUNCH

- From 12pm to 2pm, sandwiches (even prepared with traditional rye bread) are available at our bar.

DINNER

- Price: on demand, à la carte
- 7pm - 9pm
- New appetiser buffet with a cooking show, 3 first courses, 3 second courses, 3 desserts of your choice.
- You can either have dinner at the restaurant or take it away.

SPECIAL MENU NEEDS

- Although we take orders for people with celiac disease, we cannot guarantee that food may not get contaminated by gluten.
- A vegetarian second course is always available.
- Kids menu and weaning porridge on demand.
- Lactose-free dishes available.
- We're glad to prepare customised dishes for people with specific allergies.
- Grand dessert buffet on Fridays.

Recipe: our chef's croissants

Make your own croissants at home following our recipe and enjoy their incredible fragrance and delicate flavour to start your day in good spirits. Ingredients: 1 kg flour – 25 gr brewer’s yeast – 20 gr malt – 200 gr white sugar – 300 gr eggs – 18 gr salt – 200 gr butter – vanilla – lemon – orange – 500 gr butter for tourage.

Ingredients: 1 kg flour – 25 gr brewer’s yeast – 20 gr malt – 200 gr white sugar – 300 gr eggs – 18 gr salt – 200 gr butter – vanilla – lemon – orange – 500 gr butter for tourage.

Method:

  • Knead the ingredients – adding the dry ones first – until smooth.
  • Let the butter soften gradually at room temperature, add the salt and spices, then slowly pour into the dough you made earlier.
  • Cover with a tea cloth and let it proof for 2 hours in a warm place.
  • Keep it in the fridge for one night.
  • Prepare a 6-mm thick layer of butter and keep it in the fridge.
  • When you’re ready to make your croissants, spread out the dough and put the flattened butter on it, then fold it over the butter to enclose it. Fold three times, then freeze for 2 hours.
  • Roll the dough out to 3 mm thick and slice into triangles. Let them proof in the oven at 26° for 2-3 hours.
  • Brush with egg wash and dust with icing sugar before baking
    at 180° for about 18 minutes.
